 Anyone who is a veteran of any branch of the services or the merchant marine is welcome to join our group at no cost.  We are collecting back issues of the Legion magazine to donate to middle school libraries so please let me know if wish to pass on yours

The Seniors Connect Coquitlam New Horizons Grant financed the printing of the booklets of “Dogwood Veterans Stories” that were distributed to schools in School District 43. Banting Middle School and several other schools in the district requested visits by members of the Dogwood Veterans Group to speak to hundreds of students prior to Remembrance Day. World War Two veterans Betty Gowan, Frank Smyth, Russ Hellard and Doc Cumbers responded. Students at Banting Middle School covered a 12 foot by 14 foot wall hanging with 3 inch diameter poppies that outlined a white peace dove that was completed in time for display at the Royal Canadian Legion after the ceremony at the Cenotaph.
